1991 Yamaha TW200
Service
Owner: Peter Thurlow of Lake of the Woods, Virginia
COMMENTS: This dual-sport motorcycle came to us after being parked outdoors and not running since 1996. It only had 836 original miles but was missing its gasoline tank. Seems the last repair shop that was working on it "lost it." We obtained a used tank that came with a dent in the side, which Randy is seen below pulling out. (We avoid using putty and body filler as often as possible.) Then we primed & painted it. The engine & front brake cable were stuck from sitting/lack of care. A good cleaning, carburetor rebuild, new battery, new clutch lever, valve adjustment, tune-up and fresh fuel has it back on the road again. Though is was neglected outdoors for 13 years, it is still in very good cosmetic condition.
